History repeated itself this past weekend when the Kings split with the Nigata Albirex, winning on Saturday and then being defeated the next day.
All-Star Naoto Takushi averaged over 24 ppg versus Oita and continued his hot streak by averaging 15 against Nigata. Kings big men Eric Walton and Danny Jones also had big weekends against Nigata, Walton averaged 18 points and 14 rebounds while Jones averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds.
“Going 2-2 these last several weekends against two very good teams in Oita and Nigata shows how we have improved as the season moves on.” Coach Hernando said. “We have the Christmas break coming up and that will give us some valuable practice time to continue our growth and development”.
Coach Hernando and the Kings continue their season on January 5 th when the Sendai 89ers come to Okinawa to face the Ryukyu Golden Kings. |
